HOW IT WORKS

We guide you through each step of the psychological testing process and provide you with recommendations to move forward.

Preparation

Prior to the assessment, a member of our testing administration team will contact you to discuss the details of the evaluation, including the time, location, and any necessary preparation for the testing day.

The administrator will work with you to determine the best plan and structure for the assessment, including whether it should be completed over the course of a day or divided into smaller segments. This decision will typically depend on the type of assessment being conducted. We offer a wide array of testing times, including evenings and weekends, so that you can have the opportunity to receive an assessment without missing school, work, or other weekday commitments.

The administrator will also advise on the best location for the assessment, one that is quiet, private, and comfortable. Additionally, the administrator will also review any necessary preparations and answer your questions.

Assessment

On the day of the assessment, your test administrator will meet you in the designated location and provide an overview of the evaluation plan. Every assessment begins with a clinical interview to collect background information that may be pertinent to developing a holistic understanding of your functioning. The tests themselves are conducted using the most current techniques available.

The majority of our tests are completed using iPads, while some utilize a laptop or other materials. For most individuals, a psychological assessment consists of many brief subtests, which will take between 5 and 10 minutes each. You will be allowed to take breaks between subtests, as needed, and the administrator will work with you to stay within the planned timing for the completion of the testing. Although you may not eat or drink during the tests, you may do so during the breaks between tests.

Report & Feedback Session

We know prompt information is important to you, which is why we strive to provide preliminary verbal results within a 3-4 days of completing the assessment. Your test administrator will collaborate with our broader team to develop an in-depth report, which we will aim to deliver within 3-4 weeks, depending on the complexity of your case. We will also schedule a feedback session with you to explain the results, answer any questions, and offer recommendations for next steps.

Depending on the nature of the assessment, you may be advised to pursue additional resources to help you obtain supports or services, such as an organizational coach, psychotherapist, tutor, or specific academic resources, including extended time or other classroom accommodations. Our team will be available to discuss these recommendations and the application of the results with you at length to ensure that they utilized effectively to achieve your goals for yourself or your child.

  • “Dr. Rowe is the most attentive, accessible, pleasant expert with whom we have ever worked. The entire process from start to finish was fluid and communicative and positive. We had neuropsychological assessment conducted before. That report paled in comparison to the evaluation Dr. Rowe conducted. He provided far superior and in-depth content. We are eternally and deeply grateful that the individuals working with our son will be able to know all the specifics mentioned in the report.”

  • "Since Dr. Johanson conducted our daughter's assessment, she has become a household name. We couldn't be more grateful for the comprehensive assessment she provided. After years of confusing clinical contacts, her report finally made everything clear. It did wonders for truly understanding our daughter's experience. It was positively illuminating and the best decision we've made for our daughter's treatment thus far. We have given her name to everyone we know and told them they have to call her!"

  • "I had an exceptionally positive experience with United Assessment from the very first phone call! Dr. Rowe took the time to listen to my situation and to explain all of the different options for testing. Dr. McClean, our examiner, was incredibly helpful in explaining my child's results. He also made himself widely available to my child's entire treatment team. Dr. McClean also explained all the results to my child, which was really helpful as I was still understanding and taking in the information myself. Dr. McClean was extremely thorough and very available for any questions we had. He was also very pleasant and easy to work with, which made our whole experience that much easier. Everything about the process was easy and seamless. The whole team was very helpful, available, and communicative throughout. I couldn't recommend them more!"

  • "I found Dr. Zaken to be an amazing balance of knowledgeable/educated and compassionate, empathetic, and caring. She provided an explanation about our daughter's behavior that no one has ever been able to give us in 14 years and that made SO MUCH sense based on what we know about our daughter. As for the actual written report, that too was an amazingly impressive balance of clinical/objective information along with specific references to our daughter and her behaviors, comments, etc. throughout the time they spent together. It was obvious that a lot of care and time went into it, as was apparent throughout the whole process. We are very grateful for the professionalism, partnered with compassion and caring that was shown through this whole process!"
